WLFI airdrop 47 USD for participants of the token sale
World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a project backed by Donald Trump, has airdropped 47 USD1 to wallets that participated in purchasing WLFI tokens, in appreciation of early users and to test the airdrop system, according to the announcement plan on April 8, 2025.
Transaction images show that each wallet received exactly 47 USD1 on the Ethereum blockchain, but the gas fees are too high, causing the actual value received to drop significantly. Some users criticize that the gas fees "eat up" the rewards.
USD1 allows minting and redeeming without fees, using Chainlink Proof of Reserves to enhance transparency. However, with 40% of the voting rights in the hands of 5 wallets, the WLFI project is facing concerns about centralized power.
