On July 29, Jin10 reported that Microsoft is in deep negotiations with OpenAI to reach an agreement that would allow it to continuously access key OpenAI technologies. According to two insiders, the two companies have discussed new terms that would allow Microsoft to use OpenAI's latest models and related technologies, even if OpenAI believes it has achieved its goal of developing more powerful artificial intelligence, known as "general artificial intelligence". Under the existing contract, reaching AGI level is considered a key milestone, at which point Microsoft would lose some rights to OpenAI technologies. Negotiators meet regularly, and the agreement could be finalized in a few weeks.
