Oasys Public Chain Launches Latest Technology Roadmap, Focusing on Three Core Areas of Blockchain Games

The Japanese gaming public chain Oasys released a new technical roadmap on the occasion of its second anniversary, aimed at addressing the technical challenges and user pain points currently faced in the blockchain gaming field. This roadmap focuses on three core areas: application data availability, layer two interoperability, and ecosystem scalability.

With the rapid development of the blockchain gaming industry, Oasys, as a platform focused on bringing traditional games into the Web3 world, is continuously improving its underlying infrastructure. Currently, Oasys has established partnerships with several well-known gaming companies, and its ecosystem includes nearly 60 games.

Oasys launches technology roadmap, presenting three axes of development

Technical Challenges Facing Blockchain Game Development

Although the underlying blockchain technology has been continuously improved in recent years, there are still some technical shortcomings in practical applications. Oasys has proposed targeted solutions by updating its technology roadmap.

1. Continuity of Game Assets

In traditional Web2 games, the game assets that players invest time and money in may disappear when the game is shut down. Blockchain technology provides a foundation for solving the issue of digital asset ownership. However, with the popularity of modular architecture, new challenges have emerged: user assets may lack continuity.

The solution proposed by Oasys is to mirror game assets from layer two to layer one, ensuring that user assets remain permanently protected even if the layer two data is discarded.

2. Interoperability of Layer 2 Networks

The second layer network of Oasys is called Verse Layer, and each Verse is an independent "small universe" that can achieve game customization. However, interoperability between different second layer networks has always been a challenge.

To address this issue, Oasys plans to introduce a cross-chain bridge, using a universal data format and standardizing APIs to enable seamless interoperability between different layer two networks. This will allow users to easily transfer data and assets between different games within the Oasys ecosystem.

3. Scalability of the ecosystem

Building and maintaining a prosperous ecosystem is another major challenge faced by public chains. Oasys closely collaborates with ecosystem partners and existing Layer 2 network operators to provide them with the necessary tools and resources to support ecosystem development and reduce technical barriers.

Oasys Verse Development Kit ( Oasys VDK ) allows enterprises to quickly access high-quality Layer 2 networks of pre-set ecosystem components, thereby accelerating project launches and focusing on content development.

Key Points of the Technical Roadmap

Oasys's technical roadmap is divided into two phases: short-term (within 1 year) and mid-term (2-3 years), aimed at keeping pace with the rapid development of the Web3 market.

Short-term plan (within 1 year):

  1. Standardized Game Asset Specifications
  2. Create practical use cases to demonstrate the application of standardized game asset specifications.
  3. Provide Oasys Verse Development Kit (Oasys VDK)

Mid-term plan (2-3 years):

  1. Solve protocol layer issues to achieve the mirroring of layer two game assets to layer one.
  2. Develop standardized protocols to ensure interoperability between different layer two networks.
  3. Provide developer tools that align with the vision of Oasys

Recent Achievements and Collaborations

Oasys has made significant progress in the development of practical use cases. Recently launched projects include:

  • L2 chain XPLA Verse brings Com2uS's popular games "Summoners War: Chronicles" and "The Walking Dead: All-Stars" to the blockchain.
  • The blockchain game "Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS-" based on the Japanese football manga "Captain Tsubasa"

In terms of ecosystem expansion, Oasys has also achieved several important collaborations:

  • Collaborating with Japan's SBI Group to expand the Japanese crypto gaming and NFT market
  • Collaborating with Kakao's Web3 gaming division Metabora SG to support its entry into the Japanese market.

Through these initiatives, Oasys demonstrates its technological innovation and strategic vision in the blockchain gaming sector, while showcasing its determination to collaborate with industry giants to promote the development of blockchain games. With the gradual implementation of its technological roadmap, Oasys is steadily advancing towards its vision of establishing global standards for blockchain gaming, creating value for players and developers, while bringing new experiences and opportunities to the gaming industry.
