The Satoshi Nakamoto statue located in Lugano, Switzerland, was stolen on August 3 and thrown into the lake, and the Lugano city government has retrieved it.
On October 25, 2024, a statue commemorating Bitcoin's anonymous creator Satoshi Nakamoto was unveiled in Ciani Park (Villa Ciani) in Lugano, Switzerland. The event was hosted by the Plan B initiative in collaboration with the city of Lugano. The statue was designed by Italian artist Valentina Picozzi and took 18 months of research and 3 months of construction to complete.
