Tether CEO petitions for Satoshi Nakamoto statue in Lugano, has collected 1,000 signatures.

On August 8, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino posted that he has gathered 1,000 signatures to petition the government of Lugano, Switzerland, hoping to restore the Satoshi Nakamoto statue that was previously thrown into the lake. The Satoshi Nakamoto statue located in Lugano, Switzerland, was stolen on August 3 and thrown into the lake, and the Lugano city government has retrieved it.

On October 25, 2024, a statue commemorating Bitcoin's anonymous creator Satoshi Nakamoto was unveiled in Ciani Park (Villa Ciani) in Lugano, Switzerland. The event was hosted by the Plan B initiative in collaboration with the city of Lugano. The statue was designed by Italian artist Valentina Picozzi and took 18 months of research and 3 months of construction to complete.
