The EU plans to draft a tax list on US service industries in response to the breakdown of trade negotiations.

On July 17, according to reports, two officials familiar with the negotiations stated that if trade talks with the United States fail, the European Union is preparing a potential tariff list and export control measures targeting the U.S. service industry as one of the possible retaliatory actions. The European Commission is drafting this list of measures in response to Trump's tariff policy, which still needs to be submitted to EU member states. In addition, EU countries are discussing a retaliatory proposal against U.S. imports worth 72 billion euros (including tariffs on Boeing aircraft, cars, and bourbon whiskey), and the newly drafted list will further supplement this proposal.
