Trump's claim that both Russia and Ukraine have "no cards to play" in the peace talks contradicts previous statements
On March 11, according to the Kyiv Independent, on March 10, U.S. President Trump told reporters before the Saudi talks between the United States and Ukraine that Ukraine and Russia had "no cards to play" in potential peace talks. "I said they (Ukraine) don't have cards. No one really has cards. Russia has no cards. All you have to do is make a deal, you're going to stop killing. This is a senseless war, and we will stop it. "Trump's latest statement contradicts his previous statements. On February 20, Trump said that Russia has a "card" in any peace talks with Ukraine because it occupies a large part of Ukrainian territory. Eight days later, amid a heated argument at the White House, the US president told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that he was "at a disadvantage" in the war and did not have the "right cards."
