According to ChainCatcher news and reports from Protos, documents obtained through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request show that the U.S. Marshal’s Service holds at least $1.6 billion in Bitcoin (BTC). The documents do not disclose specific case numbers, detention dates, asset IDs, and other information, but suggest that the agency may hold approximately 28,988 BTC, which could have a total value of about $3.4 billion based on an average price of $56,000.
