Polygon co-founder Baylina has established a new project called Zisk with the zkEVM core team.
BlockBeats News: On June 18, Polygon co-founder Jordi Baylina posted on social media that he and the zkEVM core team have officially operated independently, and the new project is named Zisk. This transition coincides with the Polygon Foundation's preparations to phase down the low-usage zero-knowledge proof EVM network. It is reported that Zisk will focus on developing low-latency, open-source zkVM verification technology. The project has been incubated in-house within Polygon Labs since May 2024, with an independent spin-off completed on June 13. According to the spin-off agreement, all intellectual property rights and core team of Polygon zkEVM have been transferred to SilentSig GmbH, a Swiss company wholly owned by Baylina. Baylina remains a Polygon co-founder and serves as an advisor. Last week, another co-founder, Sandeep Nailwal, took over as the foundation's CEO, announcing that he would phase out the zkEVM chain and focus resources on the development of Polygon PoS and AggLayer cross-chain aggregation protocols.
