A user lost 4.35 BTC due to theft after using a counterfeit hardware wallet purchased from an e-commerce platform.

On July 29, Slow Fog founder Yu Xian published a post revealing the latest case, stating, "Another person purchased a so-called imToken secure cold hardware wallet on JD.com, using a cold wallet that was initialized with preset settings by the scammer. This means the scammer had control over the mnemonic phrase, and the user directly used this mnemonic phrase as their own wallet, resulting in a theft of 4.35 BTC, amounting to several million RMB."
